23, 24, 25, & 26 January

There were no starters on these days.

We had a little bit of a strange schedule these four days due to SEOPs.  If you were unable to come to SEOPs with your student, and would like to know what was discussed, please feel free to contact our school counselors.

We have been working on our Revolutionary War Theme Park Test.  We are creating a Theme Park based on the events before, and during, the American Revolutionary War.  The test is to see if we can make these events real for the visitors to our theme parks.

We did the bulk of the work today, but we will have 30 minutes of class time next time to finish - whatever you are not able to finish next time becomes homework.  Also, next time our Battle Page and the blue Revolutionary War assignment will be due.

26 & 27 September

There was no starter today, instead, we began the day by studying for the Explorers test.

We took the explorers test - then Mr. Smith took over for awhile and introduced the concept of colonization.  When we come to class next time we will look at European exploration of the Americas, specifically focusing on North America.

8 & 9 September

This will be our last starter for this particular set - we created a chart where we listed any facts that we already know (or think that we already know) about the Maya, the Aztecs, and the Inca civilizations.  We will add to this chart next time when we look at each of these cultures in detail.

We looked at an Encyclopedia Brown mystery.

We then finished, and handed in, our First American assignment.

We finished our American Indian test - this will be due at the first of class next class time.

Remember that this Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of 9/11.  If you are interested in more information on the events of that day and the memorials, here are some places to start:
